Cooltural Pick of the Week

Welcome to my Cooltural Pick of the Week!

As a foreigner, I am going to recommend two cities in Poland that you must visit once traveling abroad. Warsaw and Krakow should be your first choice, since in those two cities you will certainly experience a great dose of art and culture.

Every week the Palace of Culture (pictured below) organizes various art exhibits and it is a lot of fun to go there and experience alternative atmosphere of the place. The exhibit that attracted my attention was related to the Grunwald Battle in 1410 because all the battle sets were entirely made of Lego bricks.

You can also take the elevator and ride all the way up to the roof to take some panoramic pictures of the city. Warm clothing is not optional :)

While in Krakow (pictured below), I visited Oskar Schindler's Museum on Lipowa 4. Normally, I try to stay away from all the war pictures because we have to go over all that gloomy stuff in schools, but this time I was really impressed with the Photo Galleries inside the complex. The museum features old pictures (some of them are included at the bottom of this post) as well as books and movies about Ghetto in Kazimierz. Watch the movie to get the glimpse of the place and its atmosphere.
